Finishing
Proto-type
and long run machining, plating, purchase order and one vendor makes Anderson Shumaker a wise
choice. We can take your Cad drawing or physical drawing to finished part for seamless trace-abilty.
Heat Treating
Proper
thermal processing is essential in the manufacturing of quality parts. Annealing after forging,
removes stresses produced during the forging process. With state of the art controls, temperatures
are maintained to assure proper metallurgical requirements are met. Polymer quenching, normalizing,
tempering, annealing, age hardening can all be performed in house to assure trace ability and
improve lead-time.
Machining
Take
advantage of Anderson Shumaker's machining capabilities. Turning, boring and milling is performed
by experienced professionals using the finest equipment.
Rough machining rings, bars, blocks, hubs, and step-down shafts to near net shapes, your machining
time is significantly reduced.
Anderson Shumaker's machining capabilities save you purchasing, transit and expediting time.
Forging
Our
Open Die process is still the preferred method for individual forgings. Hammered forgings offer:
metallurgical soundness and improved mechanical properties compared to castings. Hammer forging
can produce a wide variety of shapes and sizes and improved grain direction and structure.
Non Destructive Testing
Non
destructive testing, X-ray, Ultrasonic, Magenetic Particle, or Liquid Penetrant testing of forgings
give piece of mind to the inner workings of the forgings are sound and free from injurous defects.
Destructive Testing
Testing such as charpy impact, tensile, stress rupture, grain size, macro and
micro, can be performed by forging an extra test coupon, using an extra forging or putting a
prolongation on the forging and removing it for testing. The test piece is broken and measurements
are taken and recorded to insure the material is capable of the desired requirements of the specification.
